The Leeton Viva Under 16s team travelled to Tumut for a day of high altitude rugby. The first of the games saw Leeton play a committed Grenfell side. The Leeton side quickly settled into the game plan and found immediate success. Strong runs by Zoe Loche and Sarah Allen got the team on the front foot allowing tries to Felicity Allen, Maddison Teerman and Jenna Elliot out wide. Quick thinking and equally quick hands saw Marnie Elliot cross for a try to close out the match with a 4-0 win. The second game against Young was much closer. Again good interplay and lead up work by Shakiah Byrnes and Lauren Young allowed Jenna Elliot to streak away and score a great try. Young hit back in the second half before Leeton went in front with a try to Maddison Teerman. Enthusiastic defence saw the Leeton side run out winners 2-1.
